Moroccan Carpets
Moroccan rugs are carpets produced throughout Morocco, primarily by Berber tribal groups.
These rugs are known for their distinctive geometric designs, abstract patterns, and use of natural wool, often featuring thick pile and soft textures. Many Moroccan rugs display asymmetrical or minimalist designs reflecting the personal expression of the weaver.
Moroccan carpets have become highly popular for their unique aesthetic and connection to traditional tribal craftsmanship.
Morocco is a constitutional monarchy with a population of mainly Arab people, but there are also many Berbers, Kurds, and Persians.
The carpets are produced by tribal, regional and contemporary workshops, using often undyed wool with typical Moroccan patterns. The weave is quite coarse but the pile is very plushy.
