Millefleurs Rug

Millefleurs rugs are carpets featuring a design composed of numerous small floral elements scattered across the field, similar to the mille fleurs tapestry style. This design appears in certain Persian and Indian carpets, particularly in decorative and prayer rug formats. The pattern creates a dense and richly detailed surface. A design composed of many flower blossoms. Often the millefleurs design occupies the field of a prayer rug with the field flanked by cypresses. Such rugs were finely woven in Mughal India and southwestern Iran by Qashqai tribes. A similar design could be found in Hereke weaving as well.
