Luri rugs are woven by the Luri tribes of southwestern Iran, closely related to the Lori weaving tradition.

An ancient people speaking an Iranian language, in Zagros mountains od southwestern Persia. They are tribally organized and still to great extent pastoral nomads. One of well known sub tribes are the Baktiari.
The Luris weave a variety of functional tribal pieces such as saddle bags, salt bags,Torbas, animal trappings and rugs, using different pile and flatweave structures. Some Luri rugs are often mistaken as Qashqai weaving.
