Ladik

Ladik rugs are woven in the Ladik region of central Anatolia, Turkey, near Konya. These carpets are especially known for their prayer rug designs, often featuring a distinctive mihrab with stylized floral motifs such as tulips and carnations. Ladik rugs typically display bright colors and clear geometric organization. They are considered an important group within Anatolian village weaving traditions. Ladik is a town located in Central Anatolia north of Konya. As many other Turkish rugs the prayer design is the most common in Ladik Rugs. The most distinguished character of the Ladik rugs is the panel of Tulips that spring downward from below the Mihrab.
