Kars
A city of northeastern Anatolia near the border with Caucasus. Rugs woven in Kars have modified Caucasian designs. They are on an all wool foundation. They are coarsely woven and similar to Kazaks in construction as well as design. Kurds in the area weave rugs, but their products are not generally distinguishable from other Kars rugs woven outside of workshops.
