Karakacheli (Karakachili)

Karakachli rugs are Anatolian tribal carpets woven by the Karakachli (Yörük) groups in western Turkey. These rugs often display bold geometric patterns, strong color contrasts, and traditional tribal motifs, reflecting nomadic weaving traditions. Karakachli carpets are valued for their authenticity and tribal character. Knotted carpets and kilims whose main decoration consists of flowers are known in Anatolia as Chichekli, a name derived from the word Chichek meaning a flower.
