Karadja carpets are valued for their bold design and strong structure. Karadja is a town in Iranian Azerbaijan near Heriz. Items attributed to Karadja have a unique type medallion motif that is distinctive. Some Heriz that are single wefted are called Karadja Baft (Woven in Farsi) Heriz.
