Isfahan (Isphahan, Esphahan)

Isphahan (also spelled Esfahan or Isfahan) is one of the most important Persian carpet-weaving centers, located in central Iran. Carpets from Isphahan are known for their exceptionally fine weave, intricate floral designs, and elegant medallion compositions. Many are made using high-quality wool and silk, resulting in highly detailed and refined patterns. Isphahan carpets reached their peak during the Safavid dynasty, when royal workshops produced some of the finest carpets in Persian history.
