Ghiordes rugs are carpets woven in the Ghiordes (Gördes) region of western Anatolia, Turkey. The town is historically important for its prayer rugs, which often feature distinctive mihrab designs and finely detailed patterns. The Ghiordes knot, a symmetrical knot widely used in Turkish carpet weaving, is named after this region.Geirous was formerly a designation for Bidjar carpets in Northwest Persia as well as the name of Kurdish sub tribe of the area. A design of large Bidjar carpets of the 19 Century consisting of a system of arabesques in red or navy blue field color.

There are 16 Century carpets with a similar design, most probably related with the Dragon carpets.
