Garajeh rugs are Persian village carpets woven in the Garajeh area of northwest Iran, near the Heriz region. These rugs typically display bold geometric medallions and angular motifs, reflecting the design traditions of the Heriz weaving district. Garajeh carpets are admired for their strong structure and striking geometric designs. Karadja is a town in Iranian Azerbaijan near Heriz. Items attributed to Karadja have a unique type medallion motif that is distinctive. Some Heriz that are single wefted are called Karadja Baft (Woven in Farsi) Heriz.
