Chila rugs are a type of Caucasian carpet, generally associated with the Shirvan weaving region. These carpets typically feature intricate geometric patterns and vibrant natural dyes characteristic of Caucasian rug traditions. Hilla is the name of a town west of Baku. Hilla rugs were mostly made in a larger format and they are distinguished by the all over paisley design and the center medallion. These are rare items and highly in demand.
