Bhutan Textile

Bhutan textiles are traditional woven fabrics produced in the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan, where weaving has long been an important cultural tradition. Bhutanese textiles are typically made using silk, cotton, or wool and are known for their vivid colors, intricate patterns, and symbolic motifs. These textiles are often used for ceremonial garments and decorative household items. Although not directly related to oriental carpet weaving, Bhutanese textiles represent an important tradition within the broader field of Asian textile arts. A tiny kingdom in the eastern Himalayas, Bhutan is known for its dramatic mountain scenery, picturesque villages, Buddhist culture and splendid textiles. Most textiles made today have the same format as they had for generations, while at the same time reflecting changing tastes in fiber, colors and sometimes patterning.
