Beshir

Beshir rugs are a group of Turkoman carpets associated with the Beshir region near the Amu Darya in Central Asia. In the rug trade, the term often refers to weavings with characteristics related to the Ersari tradition. Beshir rugs are known for their soft wool, warm red tones, and spacious repeating patterns, often including guls, lattice motifs, or prayer-related layouts. Compared with some other Turkmen carpets, Beshir examples may appear more open and decorative in design. They are appreciated for their distinctive Central Asian character and attractive color palettes.
