Arabesque
An arabesque is a decorative design consisting of interlacing vines, scrolling foliage, and stylized floral forms. This motif is widely used in Islamic decorative arts, including architecture, manuscripts, ceramics, and carpets. In oriental rugs, arabesque patterns often appear in classical Persian carpets, particularly those produced during the Safavid period.
