During the Ottoman period, Aleppo became known for its textile production, including silk fabrics and carpets. Although not as prominent as major carpet-weaving centers in Persia or Anatolia, Aleppo played a role in the trade and distribution of oriental rugs, serving as a marketplace where carpets from surrounding regions.
