Abruzzi
Abruzzi is a mountainous region in central Italy historically associated with various textile traditions, including embroidery, weaving, and wool production. While the region is not known as a major center of carpet weaving, Abruzzi textiles are often referenced in studies of European decorative arts and rural weaving traditions. The region’s pastoral economy supported sheep raising and wool processing, which contributed to the development of local weaving techniques used in household textiles and garments.
