Bakshaish (Bakhshaesh)

Located between Tabriz and Heriz, the town of Bakshaish produced boldly designed carpets until the early 20 Century. Many Bakshaish carpets resembling those of the neighboring Heriz but in comparison Bakshaish carpets are more primitive and tribal looking.  Most of the Heriz carpets were of a similar pattern and size but Bakshaish carpets were made in various designs and color combination and often in odd sizes.
