All-Over Pattern

A design in the field of a carpet or a rug consisting of vertically and horizontally repeated geometrical or floral elements. Usually, the pattern is interrupted or cut off by the borders. Sometimes borders awkwardly interrupt the pattern. Many of the repeated patterns has names such as Boteh, Gul (in Turkoman carpets), Herati or fish design, Mina Khani, Harshang, Gol Farang Etc.
