Masulipatam

Beautiful carpets were made in India, at first by the Persian craftsmen introduced by the Mughal emperors. Later during the 17 Century, there was a change of style when purely Persian motifs began to appear.
At Masulipatam in the south, mixture of Indian, Persian and even geometric Mamluk motifs started to appear.
